Back from holiday...

... and the big news is that I'm officially enrolled in the BBC Writers' Academy (or will be, once the paperwork's sorted).

Term starts on 17 September.

Let's just say I'm a bit chuffed.

I'm really pleased for you. Does this mean you'll be quitting the FSA?

Great news, do you who else made it, or where a list has been put up?

Thanks, everyone. It's all a bit unreal at the moment. I haven't seen contracts or anything yet, and have only spoken to the bods in HR. But I'm sure I did get a telephone call...

Janice - will I quit the FSA? Well, I quit years ago, but keep going back as a part-time consultant. But, I suppose, I won't be doing any of that until at least 2009. Still there at the moment though!

Lucy - I'm not sure how much blogging I'll be doing. I've never been one for going public with stuff people don't expect to see published, and when I do I keep it nice, and keep it blame-free etc. And I don't tend to mention names. I'm afraid you won't get a moment by moment account, but you'll get some kind of taster perhaps. Not sure.

Jane - I've no idea who else got through. And I wouldn't know where to find a list. But everyone I know in the BBC seemed to know I was through before I told them, so the word must be out there somewhere.

Congratulations Paul!

My mate did it last year and although he was totally exhausted with getting up at 5am and meeting midnight deadlines, he enjoyed every second of it.

I'm sure you will, too!

Lovely news!
