With that in mind, anyone know when we're *finally* going to be put out of our misery re: this year's BBC Academy intake?? Paul you must know people who know people??
Jason - I think I'm probably giving Cheltenham a miss this year. Might still change my mind, but probably not. It's a lot of time and money when both are in short supply. Next year.
Lucy - You're right, I do know people who know people. And I've talked to them very recently. But (and this pains me), I'm not in a position to pass on what little I know. However, I'm probably not out of order if I say that they're still reading and it will be a while before anyone hears anything.
Me too! I am waiting for the BBC email re: the writers academy...it's torturous......I am going over the application in mind on a daily basis....regretting what I wrote and what I attached as an example of my work! I wish I had sent a different script, I wish I had made my answers funnier, I wish I had done everything better but oh well and hey ho it's done now.....I just hope me, myself I and 7 other lovely people get a place and we can all make hay together -script writing hay of course...

I'm bloody loving that, sir. Enjoy! And I hope you'll be attending the Screenwriters' Festival to tell us all about it, hmmm?
Congrats mate . I've found you now.
See you in August
Mike
Nicely done, sir. And I'm not jealous at all.
Not. Even. A. Little. Bit.

Coolio. And, quite probably, his gang.
Lucy, a quick check back on Paul's blog round this time last year shows the chosen few were notified on June 27th and 28th.
On that basis, there's at least another three and a half weeks to go.
Thanks, chaps.

Still reading is good: that means I *could* still be in the running and my dreams lives on...
Cheers Paul!
Delurking to say that I noticed on the Writers Academy Facebok page that it sayseveryone should hear by 14th July. That seems FAR away...
Knock 'em dead on Friday.
...Actually, don't. Then they wouldn't be able to commission you. Just rough them up a bit with your wit, style, and erudition.
Lovely to meet you on Friday, Paul. Best of luck with the ep. Sounded like a good'un! (Told you I read your blog...)
You lucky so and so....
